On 20 April 2023 at approximately 11:27am, the sun, moon and the earth will all align for a once in a lifetime full solar eclipse event. The eclipse will be visible to most of the world, however the best place to witness the spectacle is from the Exmouth peninsula.

Bookings at RAC Exmouth Cape Holiday Park that fall over 17-23 April 2023 will be impacted by this event. Please consider the below information ahead of booking your stay. Bookings will open to RAC members at 9am Wednesday 27 April 2022 and the general public at 9am Friday 29 April 2022.

Travelling to Exmouth 

If you intend on booking and travelling to Exmouth around the Ningaloo Solar Eclipse event period, please be aware of the possible implications to your stay. It is anticipated that the volume of travellers, in addition to school holiday crowds, will put significant pressure on the town’s resources. Wait times and availability at Exmouth venues will be heavily affected, and heavy traffic is expected on the region’s roads.

Guest safety, additional resources & rates 

The safety of our guests and local community remains our highest priority. We will implement additional safety measures from 18-20 April 2023, including additional staffing, security, and cleaning measures.

Our rates for this period will reflect these additional resources. You can expect to see a 50%-70% increase in standard rates over these three days.

Booking parameters

Ningaloo Solar Eclipse booking payment & cancellations

• A non-refundable 30% deposit of the full valid of the stay will be required at the time of booking.
• 100% payment of the full value of the stay is due by 5pm 15 March 2023. Should full payment not be received by this date, the booking will be cancelled and will result in forfeiture of all monies paid to date.
• Cancellations at any time after the time of booking will result in forfeiture of all monies paid.
• No name changes are permitted. On selling of a booking will result in the cancellation of the booking and refusal of entry upon arrival.

Booking demand for this period is very high and we cannot guarantee accommodation for everyone.
