Water safety awareness

Stay safe around the water on your holiday

The safety of our members and our guests is our highest priority, particularly around the water. Parks & Resorts have partnered with Royal Life Saving Western Australia to help increase the awareness of water safety across our parks and resorts within Western Australia. A series of videos have been cleverly created, featuring WA’s own, long-distance swimmer, Shelley Taylor Smith, who helps share helpful safety tips on staying safe around the water on your holiday.

When your children are in the water supervision is prime. Please be sure you’re focused all the time. Whether they’re in the pool or at the beach be sure your children are within arm’s reach.
Whether you’re riding a jet ski or paddling a canoe, wearing a lifejacket is an absolute must-do. Today’s modern designs are so easy to wear. So don’t just carry your lifejacket, put them on, before heading out on the water for a safe day of fun.
Alcohol around water is a no-go zone. It can impair your judgement and make you take risks. Alcohol and water just don’t mix.
Being alone in the water is never a good idea, even if you’re an experienced swimmer. There are many ways you can get into strife and going with others can save your life. It’s better to enjoy the water with a mate or two. It’s a lot safer and more fun too.
