RAC Margaret River Nature Park is enriched with history, being home to The Wharncliffe Saw Mill that was constructed in 1967.
This Mill was opened by the Forests Department of Western Australia and was in operation for 14 years, producing sawn pine from local materials with the timber being primarily used in the construction of packing boxes and crates. In the mill’s later years, it was leased to a private sawmilling company before closure in 1982.
Today, the historic Wharncliffe Mill building offers a great undercover and function space for your special occasion. The round chimney is the only remnant of the original Mill, which is also one of the last examples of curved chimneys in Western Australia.
The Wharncliffe Mill can cater for all types of weddings, from large seated weddings with a large dance floor to smaller cocktail functions.
