A perfect year-round indoor activity, the Shark Bay World Heritage Discovery Centre has been carefully curated to showcase the best of Shark Bay’s significant history. The centre features many informative displays, soundscapes, interactive media and objects of rare scientific and historical significance. Learn about the natural and cultural stories of Shark Bay and how it’s come to be what it is today.
Make your way through to reach the ‘Fire on the Water’ 3D film exhibition, playing every half hour during the centre’s opening hours. The film tells the story of the battle between HMAS Sydney II and HSK Kormoran and their historic World War II naval battle just 200km off the coast of Shark Bay.
Tickets can be booked online or purchased at the centre. It also offers a range of services such as itinerary planning with local knowledge and insights, maps and direction advice, and a free booking service for accommodation and tours.
