Past updates
February 2025 update
Upgrade of Robinson Street carpark:
- Civil works are progressing well. New kerbing and asphalt works are currently scheduled for March 2025, with line marking and footpaths to follow soon after.
- Robinson Street road reserve will remain closed until the scheduled re-opening in April 2025.
Major retaining structures:
- Works on major retaining walls across the site are expected to continue through to the end of March 2025.
Hard digging:
- To allow building works to commence, rock must be broken out and removed from site. Rock breaking activity began in early February and is currently expected to continue until the end of February.
- We continue to do all we can to mitigate noise and dust impacts. We once again thank the Coral Bay community for your patience and understanding while these unavoidable works are undertaken.
January 2025 update
Following a short break over the festive period, works recommenced on site in mid-January. Over the coming weeks, key activities include:
Upgrade of Robinson Street carpark:
- Civil works will continue along Robinson Street. The Robinson Street road reserve will remain closed until the scheduled re-opening in April 2025.
Major retaining structures:
- Major retaining walls across the site will be constructed over the coming weeks, with completion expected in late March 2025.
Hard digging:
- To allow building works to commence, rock must be broken out and removed from site.
- Rock breaking has been scheduled for early February and is expected to last for a couple of weeks.
- This will create some unavoidable noise and vibration that will be noticeable around town.
Operating in line with the approved site and construction management plans, we will continue to do all we can to mitigate noise and dust impacts.
December 2024 update
In recent weeks, progress on site has included the installation of retaining walls. Whilst works have been completed in line with approved site management practices, windy conditions have unfortunately led to unavoidable dust and noise impacts at times.
Works during December include further retaining wall construction, along with minor civil earthworks at the rear of the property. Compaction and rock breaking works may be heard by neighbouring properties at times.
We continue to do all we can to mitigate noise and dust impacts. This includes conducting works only within approved operating hours and closely following all dust, vibration and noise management requirements.
Works on site will temporarily cease during the festive period from Friday 20 December, before recommencing in mid-January 2025.
November 2024 update
Demolition and site clearing was completed in late May 2024. Construction activity in Coral Bay was then paused as land dealings relating to acquisition and amalgamation and Lot 54 were worked through.
With the process now near completion, we have commenced procurement and contracting of various construction partners to conduct the next stages of the redevelopment.
Minor works have now recommenced on site in Coral Bay, starting with preliminary earthworks and wastewater adjustments to allow the installation of required retaining walls along the northern end (Robinson Street end) of the property.
July 2024 update
Demolition and site clearing works were completed at the end of May 2024.
Works on site in Coral Bay have been paused as we work through the next steps.
We have commenced the civil works tender process, which we continue to progress. We expect to have a civil contractor appointed and ready to recommence works on site soon.
We are also continuing to engage with the Department of Planning, Lands and Heritage (DPLH) around the finalisation of land acquisition and amalgamation.
A further update will be provided once these next steps are finalised.
