Step back in time and explore the lush forests of Pemberton aboard the cherry-red diesel hydraulic tram.
This scenic tram ride meanders through the dense forest along 10 kilometres of railway tracks on the 75-minute round trip. The ride includes informative commentary from your driver, about the forest’s ecology, the tramway’s history and the broader region. You’ll cross bridges that span rivers and streams, before stopping at the Cascades, a series of rocky rapids on the Lefroy Brook. Stretch the legs and walk along the water’s edge, or bring a light picnic to enjoy on your stopover.
Keep an eye out for kangaroo spotting along the way!
The tram operates twice daily during the week (closed Wednesday), and three times daily on Saturdays. Book your tickets online, or visit the ticket office in town to secure your spot.
For those seeking a more adventurous journey, consider taking the tram one-way to the Cascades and hiking back to Pemberton. This route covers a 6-kilometre section of the Bibbulum Track and typically takes about 2.5 – 3 hours.
