RAC Monkey Mia Dolphin Resort is situated midway up the West Australian coastline within the Shark Bay World Heritage Area, home to one of the world’s best-known dolphin encounters. We offer holidaymakers a truly unique experience in unspoiled surroundings. With beachfront accommodation & campgrounds, you won’t have to go far to feel the sand between your toes

Checking in and out
Check-in from 2pm daily. Reception is open until 8pm, if you are arriving outside of reception hours you can register for contactless check-in.
Check-out is at 10am daily. You can access contactless check-out with the reception team during your stay.
One car and trailer is permitted per reservation. Visitors may leave their car in the guest car park.
When booking via our website, you can add an airport shuttle transfer to your booking for $20pp each way.
You are able to pay via credit card, BPay, gift card or payment plan. When booking online, you will be asked to pay 1 nights deposit to secure your booking. Full payment is required 3 days prior to your arrival. If your arrival date is within 7 days of your booking being placed, you will be required to pay in full upfront.
You can cancel your booking up to 72hrs prior to arrival without penalty. Bookings cancelled within 72hrs of arrival will forfeit the cost of your first nights stay.

- Q Can I request to stay next to my friends or family?
Our website does not currently allow you to make group bookings.
For your best chance to secure side by side accommodation or sites, we recommend that each family book their own site/accommodation and then have a representative of your group email our team with your groups booking numbers at the earliest convenience. Our team will then endeavour to situate you next to each other. Please allow 3-5 business days for an email response.
- Q When can I book school holidays?
Due to high volume demand, we have a repeat booking and release process in place for school holiday periods. Find out more about school holiday bookings here.
- Q How do I claim my RAC member discount?
When booking online, enter your RAC member number in step 2 of the booking process. You can find your RAC member number on your member card, on your bill or by logging into myRAC. The RAC member discount is only available when booking direct.
- Q What is the cancellation policy at RAC Monkey Mia Dolphin Resort?
You can cancel up to 72hrs prior to your arrival without penalty.
Cancellations made within 72 hours of your arrival will forfeit the cost of your first night’s stay.

- Q Is the resort pet-friendly?
We have pet-friendly powered sites available. Pets must be included in your booking, which you can do by adding them to the guest drop down when you place your booking online.
Pets must be kept on a lead at all times while in the park and must not be left unattended. There are some shared spaces where pets are not allowed, including the pool, recreation room and camp kitchens.

- Q What time is check-in/check-out?
Check-in is from 2pm, and check-out is by 10am.
Please note that our reception closes at 8pm. If you are arriving after this time, please get in touch with our team ahead of your stay to organise after-hours check-in.
We will also provide you with an after-hours or emergency contact number upon your arrival for added peace of mind.

Yes, if you arrive after 8pm we can organise an after-hours check-in for you.

- Q How many cars can I bring?
One car parking bay is allocated per reservation.
Should you require additional parking, please get in touch with our team ahead of your stay to check availability.
- Q Can I park my boat or trailer too?
One car parking bay is allocated per reservation.
Boats and trailers must be parked in the public boat parking area located outside of the resort.
- Q Is there an airport shuttle service available to the resort?
Yes, we offer an airport shuttle service to and from the resort for a fee. You can add this to your booking when checking out.
- Q What is the additional fee paid on arrival?
A reserve entry fee is charged by the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions (DBCA) for entry into the Monkey Mia Reserve where our RAC Monkey Mia Dolphin Resort is located, as well as Shark Bay.
This fee is not paid to our resort, but paid direct to DBCA for the continued care, welfare, management, and research of the Monkey Mia dolphins. The fee is not included in any of our accommodation costs. You can read more about it here.

We have an on-site general store which stocks a large range of grocery and holiday essentials.
The nearest supermarket is Shark Bay Supermarket, located a 20-minute drive from the resort.

The beach is just footsteps away from Monkey Mia Dolphin Resort.
- Q Can you swim at Monkey Mia?
Yes, you can swim at Monkey Mia. The clear waters are excellent for diving, swimming, and snorkelling.
- Q Do you have Wi-Fi?
Yes, we have free Wi-Fi available for our guests to use.
- Q Do you have laundry facilities?
Yes, we have a camp laundry. Washing and drying machines are available for guest use for a small fee. Clotheslines are also available.
- Q What is in your general store?
Our general store is stocked with all your daily essentials, offering a wide range of snacks, cold drinks, and souvenirs, plus fishing and beach accessories.
- Q Are there BBQ facilities?
Yes, we offer BBQ facilities throughout the park.

Yes, we have a resort-style swimming pool, plus an additional swimming pool and a wading pool for the kids to enjoy.

Yes, linen is provided in all villa, studio, room, and dorm accommodation.
